How to Create Stunning Panoramas with the DJI Mavic 2 Pro | Drone Photography Tips
I am trying with stock photography, I went to a protest to take editorial photos. I sold a few but what i earned was not even sufficient to repay the bus ticket to get there. Still I want to scale up and try a few more months.
I keep stock photography as a hobby. Nothing more.
Thank you for your videos, I love them. Would you disclose what software of website do you use to generate the AI images?
Thank you for your support. I am currently using Mid Journey.
Thank you Jason. Good video. But how about Adobe allowing only one image from one prompt?
Can you elaborate? I am not clear on the question. I need a bit more context.
@@JasonYoder Adobe states in its guidelines for AI-generated images that it is not allowed to upload multiple images from a single prompt. Doing so may result in an account suspension.
I see. That is a problem. The other problem is that there are only so many ways to rephrase a prompt. You just gave me a really good idea. I've been looking at a way to incorporate calling on an AI through APIs in one of my programming classes. I'll see if I can amend the workflow to include the functionality of rephrasing a prompt through an AI to stay in compliance. Thank you. I'll be moving on from Mid-Journey to another product that also uses APIs for interfacing with their site through software. This would be a nice transition. Again, thank you for pointing that out to me.
Thanks for sharing. I had December off and spent so much time editing photos on my computer that I got wrist tendonitis in the first week. I couldn't take photos during a month vacation in Germany because of it. What a waste. It's a slow start in 2025 recovering from it... lesson learned. I need to find a better balance or make a schedule, and get some ergonomic equipment.
Moderation my friend. Your health comes first. I am walking 100 miles each month to keep healthy. Now, if I can keep that up when summer hits, we will have to wait and see. I just edited photos from two months ago for the Feb 15th episode. Epic camp sight with an unexpected sunset. I hope you will enjoy it.
Thank You for sharing Jason.
Thank you for your time and support.
Great work 👏
Thank you
@JasonYoder welcome 🙌
Thanks Jason. I deleted my Midjourney account after reflecting on what interests me (given this is a hobby). Good for you for sticking with it since it will make money, particularly as photo AI and video AI improve.
Completely understand. I have it integrated into my normal workflow while doing the job that pays the bills. I am counting down the days until I get to focus on fine art.
Hello, which platform do you use for making your Ai photos ...? thank you
I use Mid Journey. Check out this episode.. ruclips.net/video/SoyLgtYD2y4/видео.html
Looks like I hit the "undo" button to many times. The final numbers for 2024.... 3596 sales and $3150.72 in commissions
Is there a reason why you're using midjourney specifically? Can I replace with another AI imaging software?
Mid journey is the product that I am currently using. You can use any product that you want. The part of the workflow for creating the image will have to be adjusted for that product. My software will work in any image.
Hi. I am a student and i am thinking about doing Shutterstock photography. Now after this situation, what should I do? Should make account or not?
I recommend that you look at Adobe Stock. Everybody has a different experience with the different agencies. Adobe Stock is my top agency. I'll be releasing my 2024 results for the different agencies that I use on Jan 25.
Amazing
Thank you. Do you plan on visiting Death Valley?
@JasonYoder Hi. No i live on UK. But love what i saw on your video
@ Well I am glad that you enjoyed the video. Comments like that are helping me continue to grow this channel and move to doing this full time. The UK is high on my list of places to visit. My grandmother was born in Scotland. Do you have any recommendations of places to photograph in the UK?
@@JasonYoder I love Tower of London, Woodhenge, Baconsthorpe Castle, Castle Acre: Castle Acre Priory, Framlingham Castle and others
Thank you. I appreciate your advice.
Literally didn't say anything about what would actually be happening to contributors. Seams like this video was a little premature
What is your prediction?
Great video, Jason Yoder. Looking forward to your next upload from you. I smashed the thumbs up icon on your content. Keep up the excellent work! Your insights on focus stacking in such a challenging environment were particularly enlightening. How do you plan to address the impact of heat distortion when capturing landscapes in extreme conditions?
Glad you liked the video. I appreciate the support. Living in the desert kinds of forces you to make changes to how you capture an image. Death Valley was definitely a more extreme environment. For situations where you will have photograph across a vast area of land, the morning is your best bet. For a situation where you are in a desert, go in winter and be ready to shoot at first light. The Death Valley episode was photographed in mid-November. Right in the morning is the time between when the land has given up as much heat as possible and before it starts to absorb more from the sun. I had Dad with me on the trip so trust me, there was no way that I was going to be able to head out before sunrise :)
Nice work Jason!
Hey Jefferson. Thank you. It's great to hear from you. Have a good day.
Perfect valley.
Have you been there?
@@JasonYoder No, I'm in Turkey. I liked your video. We have ‘Salt Lake’ with similar characteristics. Only not so hot and dry. I've been there many times.
Turkey. On my places to visit. I tried to get a 24 layover in Istanbul. I hear it is an amazing place to visit.
Hi. Do you recommend this K&F Concept 64 inch/163cm Camera Tripod? What backpack can you recommend on Amazon that doesn't exceed the airline's size limit for taking on the plane? Thanks
I have not looked at that tripod so I cannot give you an informed answer. This is the website for the backpack that I use. sunny16.com/. I have flown with it on all types of aircraft around the world. It fits under the see in front of you or in the smaller overhead bins. Let me know if this helps.
Thanks@@JasonYoder. I have a Neewer backpack. Unfortunately yours is very expensive for my budget The camera I have is the 550D and the lenses I have are the Canon 10-18, the 18-55 and the 55-250mm. What cheap Canon lens can you recommend me for taking pictures of the moon? Portuguese greetings. Thanks
@bananaukra3235 well, the moon will appear as a small disk in the sky. You need a long lens to get anything respectable. Also, shoot it while it is low on the horizon with a foreground element. The foreground element needs to be some distance away since you will be using a long lens. The trifecta of the moon, foreground element, and a long kens will give you impressive results. Crop the photo a bit to make the moon look a bit larger.
@@JasonYoder Thanks
@ Happy to help. One more thing, You may want to shoot the day before a full moon. This may provide enough lighting on your foreground element to keep the moon from over powering it. You may also want to shoot in bracketing mode. That way images are taken in very quickly at different exposures. Combine the darker and lighter exposures. The darker for the moon and the lighter for the foreground. I use a free app called "Sun Position Map" so I have an idea of where the moon will pop up on the horizon. I'd love to see your results.
All the 'BRAIN DEAD' folks have switched to "AI". Because those "AI" folks can not think for them selfs, all they gotta do is type in a word, any word and out comes that fake looking image or vdo clip.
Personally, I prefer to go out an enjoy the experience of photography. I am keeping my AI images to backgrounds or things that cannot be photographed. Selling computer generated images has been around in stock photography for at least 15 years. I have some 3D renders that still sell to this day. AI has served as a way to increase my sells. Especially what it is 118 degrees out. No fun to photograph in that weather.
Hi... which version of Lightroom do you use to enhance images?
Goodmorning. I am using Lightroom Classic 13.5.1.
As always, everything is unclear for us contributors..
Yep. I believe that they still need us for a while to provide images to train their AI with. AI will, in my opinion, be able to replace editorial photos since you have to be there to capture the photo.
я все же надеюсь, что будут два отдельных сайта и все, я ненавижу загрузку на айсток
Stock still under 3 dollar
My understanding is that there are 3 businesses here, Getty, iStock and Shutterstock. Shutterstock selling many images by pennies, iStock somewhere higher and Getty, expensive values. They are merging their business, but, as the email I just received, for now the operations still are separate. I think Shutterstock and iStock target the same market so eventually they will merge the operations, but have no idea how this will happen and how will they do with contributors like me who are in both platforms.
I am only guessing here, but from a technical perspective they can compare the photos in both platforms to each other to look for duplicates through a process called hashing. This will prevent duplicates on the same platform. I am interested in what will happen as well. I am more interested in the commission schedule. If they advertise how many more opportunities that contributors have to make money, that is corporate BS for we are lowering commissions.
Yes but the keyword system of iStock is different than Shutterstock, which one they will keep? But it makes sense to merge the databases into one larger collection
I have recently started uploading in stock websites, Shutterstock, wirestock, dreamstime, depositphotos, but saw dollars in only wirestock
You don't upload in wirestock? Anyreason for that?
Never tried it. I already had accounts on the other platforms. Do you have to pay to use it or do they take part of your commission?
I have tried to open an account with Getty images using different photos and different emails many times but have always been rejected. I’m assuming soon when Getty images takes over new photos that I upload to Shutterstock will get rejected 😮
Getting into Getty was not easy. Did they provide a reason fir the rejection?
@@JasonYoderno. Nothing. I just vaguely remember something like not useful/quality standards
Well, that was not helpful. I had to make several attempts to get accepted. Keep trying.
10 mins ago shutterstock community team has sent a email
Yep, I saw that. Business as usual for the time being
Congratulations, Chief! That's an amazing achievement, and I'm confident you'll reach 3K by the end of the year. Take care, my friend!
Thank you Shipmate.
I personally don’t know what to make of it. Time would tell. For me, Pond5 was doing very well until it’s merger with SS. It’s now virtually dead SS far as I’m concerned. Let’s wait and see …
All industries change. Stock photography is going through a lot. We have to adapt or be left behind. I am planning on focusing more on developing my professional photography and RUclips. What is not my best work, will end up as stock.
Thanks Jason. You’re breaking the news on RUclips.
LOL. Thank you but just one of many talking about this. This obviously impacts me as well. I've started the countdown to when I move to full time RUclips creator and will move to fine art photography at that time. Stock Photography has allowed my wife and I to travel overseas on multiple occasions. I am very much looking forward to that day.
So what happens to our portfolios? That's my main concern. I have both at iStock and Shutterstock and many of the same pictures / videos there. I'm worried whether or how their websites will merge. According to an article I found, Shutterstock remains as independent website.
I would love to read that article. I have the same questions. Can you reply back with the link? Thank you.
@@JasonYoder Article is The Verge "Getty Images and Shutterstock are merging into one stock photo powerhouse"
i dunno man, maybe getty getting those 10c commissions will improve on getty's current 2c commissions.
I don't see those in my earnings reports. I hope sales on Getty increase.
I laughed so hard at that... :))
Thanks Jason. I love your videos. Looking forward to your next adventure.
Thank you. I am looking forward to the next adventure as well :)
Getty isn't much better. Getting a penny for my iStock shots. Or at least used to. Closed my iStock account about 4 or 5 years ago due to poor, cheap sales.
Well... if you have a Shutterstock account, you are about to get a Getty account. I have not experienced a $.01 sale but I absolutely understand your point of view
@@JasonYoder Me too like Jason wrote here, Shutterstock is the worst in the full list, Getty is paying better, lets hope contributors will get a little more now, but, I'm not really optimistic about that, we have left with Adobe which feels are the fairest of all. Alamy, dreamstime, and others are spending time, at list for me. What is most annoying with shutterstock, is that when you are on stage 4, you almost getting the same like stage 1, they think we are stupid.
@@JasonYoder I left Getty ten years ago after they started selling my stock images for 1 cent. They don't care about their contributors only their share holders. If you don't like what they do, there's always another young and naive sucker who thinks there is good money to be made in stock.
Agreed. That is why every month with I post my earnings results, I tell people to keep it a hobby. Stock should be for those who do not have time to do fine art or run a photography business. I just use it to pay for vacations.
nothing good will come from this. It creates a monopoly. When Shutterstock lowered their payouts, contributors could take their stuff to Pond5 and Getty and Adobe. Now contributors have nowhere else to go. The government should block this merger, it creates a monopoly.
I cannot disagree. Do you have content on both platforms?
so no growth
When you look over the courses of a year, yes. I'll be posting a summary of my 2024 efforts later this month.
You just showed your viewers how to STEAL! Also, I'm reporting your accounts. bye.
